Taos Ink is a new screen printing business in town. They are making up aprons and t-shirts with the TAO logo. TAO will have it's first line of TAO logo items on sale at the Masquerade Ball. The Taos Ink is announcing the "Taos Ink 2009 Psychedelic Poster Contest"! Time to put your flashbacks to work for you! Inviting all you local visual magicians to conjure psychedelic imagery for this far-out event while contributing to your brothers and sisters in the Taos art community. Commemorate the 2009 Taos Summer of Love Event by creating a poster in a style reminiscent of the late 1960s psychedelic era. The winning entry will be screen printed in a limited edition and sold with a portion of the proceeds to benefit local artist organization TAO and the Harwood Children’s Art Program. Get on the bus and be part of the grooviest thing going down in Taos this summer. Get noticed by your peers and collectors who appreciate this unique art form, Can you dig it? If so, check out the contest guidelines at www.taosink.com and make love and art this summer. Call for more info: Dave Schoder, owner, 575-751-3501 and visit http://www.taosink.com/

On Sunday, June 7th at 3:00 pm TAO will have it's GENERAL MEETING at Kit Carson Electric Co. Board Room. Come one and all to hear about the Masquerade Ball and the Fall Tour preparations. The 2009 Taos Studio Tour is taking place September 18-27. Last years Tour included 128 artists, being the largest studio tour in New Mexico. The catalogue was beautiful and informative and many people today use it as a Taos Artist Directory. It is a collectors item and a historical document. The 2009 Catalogue will be as impressive and we look forward to it's completion. June 7th is the deadline for materials for the catalogue. Of course, before you can be added to the catalogue, you have to pay the $100 studio tour fee. This fee covers the cost of the catalogue printing. Liz Hively is designing the 2009 Catalogue (based on last years) and I (Bonnie) will be answering any of your questions. There is no exception to this deadline date so please gather your info and send it to Liz as soon as possible at lizhively@q.com

Send to Liz: image of your work (300dpi), image of you (300dpi), short artist statement, studio address, phone, email, website

Bring to TAO office: hand drawn map to mark where your studio is located (this is to assist Katie George in best locating your studio on the map)

That Was Then, This Is TAO

TAO is very excited about the upcoming Spring Exhibition:  That Was Then, This Is TAO happening May 16 - June 21 & the TAO Masquerade Ball happening June 19th.
The town of Taos has created a theme for this summer namely The Summer of Love. Dennis Hopper had a lot to do with it with his Easy Rider movie and it's 40th anniversary this year. And if that isn't enough, TAO is bringing back the Artists Ball with the TAO Masquerade Ball happening on June 19th. This will be a Grande Ball.
